Finn Higgins is a board certified nurse practitioner, certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. He completed his MSN in nursing from Rush University later getting his certificate in family medicine from Lewis University a few short years later.
He has 6 years of acute care experience working as a Registered Nurse in the ER, Telemetry and most recently in Post Anesthesia Care.
His work as a PACU nurse familiarized him with many of the surgical operations that end up being the end result to address a patient’s pain.
He was adept in taking care of the acute pain needs of patients recovering from Total Joint Arthroplasty of hip and knee joints, shoulder and knee arthroscopies, and multiple other complex fractures.
His interest lies in how to address these sources of pain outside of the hospital with treatment modalities that can help reduce the need for surgical intervention.
He is trained in trigger point injections for myofascial pain, nerve blocks for neuropathic pain and appropriate medication management.
He was born and raised on the south side of Chicago in the Beverly neighborhood.
He looks forward to speaking with you about your pain needs and growing that patient provider relationship.
