Dr. Ricardo A. Knight received his medical degree in 1993 from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, but began his career in rehabilitation medicine as a physical therapist in 1987.
Dr. Knight received his training in internal medicine and physical medicine and rehabilitation at Temple University in Philadelphia and is board certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. He obtained his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Over his career, Dr. Knight has held positions at many prominent institutions including Harvard Medical School and the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. His many leadership positions include serving as the medical director of the spinal cord program at Van Matre Healthsouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Rockford, and on the board of directors of UCAN, a child social service organization. Dr. Knight has specialized training in pain management, musculoskeletal medicine, and musculoskeletal ultrasound.
Dr. Knight is a member of several professional societies, including the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Association of Academic Physiatrists, American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine, and International Society of Physical and Rehabilitative Medicine.
